So it's 6 am here and i was thinking about my recent decision to go back into the dolling/pixel art scene. And to be honest im 50/50 about it. I was reading a forum post at TG about the newbies never going to forums or not posting for fear of elitism, True the elitism in the dolling community disgusts me as it wasnt as bad as it is now. Though what makes me more sad is to see so many familiar faces gone.Yet some of them i remember, that are still there.The UG is gone.. Anyone ever know what happened? Eden enchanted is gone (i remember when they started making people pay -shakes fist-) What ever happened to shouri? or WTM? Where'd b!c go? So i was looking for a forum to join and the only two i came across were CC or TG. Well CC doesnt suit my fancy its just not me, But TG despite the comments "TG is more-so elitist than CC".TBH TG doesnt seem as elitist as said, it seems pretty welcoming.Though i havent had the chance to meet everyone just yet the ones i have meet seem perfectly decent, maybe its just cuz the members are more mature? Weve all grown up over the past 6 to 8 yrs.Somethings bound to have changed.Apparantly the fact that the veterans are so scarey noobs wont post? They wont try and meet everyone? Now this makes me think back to wheni moved from pixel art to GFX. Dont get me wrong never in anyway should GFX be compared to PA.. its just a whole nother level! But, Hell i noticed just from my introduction posts that the GFX area is more welcoming than the PA Scene.Hell GFX is more elitest than pixel art o0 but still theyre more welcoming than the PA artists then again you have those arrogant SOBs who think theyre above all and would like to squash every kid in their way.There were some comments about how C+C is given on pixel forums and how some people are too harsh with some? You dont see alot of harsh criticism on newbs in the GFX forums, we're gentle and ease them into the harder stages.Maybe im being a bit too personal about it? i love gfx as much as i loved pixel art 2-4 yrs ago. Now i know some pixel artist is going to say "Well it takes us hours and days to create things! you gfxers use photoshop!" Excuse me, You use photoshop (tool shaders -hiss- ) Our work takes as much time as your pixels take.We just have different methods and styles of making things.So ill leave ti at this .. Is it worth going back into the pixel scene? Or should i stay in the GFX.. guess we'll watch and find out. Honestly i have no idea how going back will work out for me ive always had a messy shading style, why nowadays the styles that are mainstream are pretty and organized. Guess we'll see.And i feel like GFX is more of a tight knit community than the dollers..We have miniature battle teams (Artistic Valour - my lovely ladies i<3 u!) Even the smallest of teams are closet knit with everyone. It seems as if the dolling community has lost its spark it once had. I had so much inspiration for dolling, now i just sit and ask "is it worth it?", my inspiration for GFX isnt the same for my pA .. my PA is there one minute , gone the next, but the GFX inspiration stays.. I dont get it.Maybe thats a sign i need to just move on and stick with the GFX? Dont stay in the pixeling scene? or stay on the pixeling scene? Comments concerns? oh and for the record, noone take this offensively.. i just kinda had the spurr of inspiration to write this. comments are welcomed
